I am the oldest daughter of the famously talented artist\/seamstress, Susan Lindgren, and everyone&#8217;s favorite barbershop barber and comedian, the late Roger Lindgren. If you live anywhere near NE Wisconsin, you likely know one or both of them. I have loved and lived in this community for more than 40 years. The Midwest is my home. I am married to a wonderful local businessman and have raised my children here. It took years of working in the conventional medical system before it became clear to me that what I was practicing as a physician wasn&#8217;t a solution for wellness, it was a practice of fixing numbers with pharmaceuticals. This problem needed this drug. What patients need today &#8211; what we as people need today &#8211; is a guide to wellness. I got to the point where any activity resulted in shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing. I saw several doctors and a pulmonologist and was prescribed inhalers and prednisone. My symptoms did lessen but I still couldn\u2019t do what I once could. I was a very active person and now a walk to my mailbox was a good day. I put on weight and acquired high blood pressure. I woke every day with a headache and felt hung over even though I didn\u2019t drink. My hot flashes seemed to have increased and all I wanted to do was sleep. I could sleep 18 hours a day. I was depressed and lost hope that I would ever feel better. I heard about Lindgren Functional Medicine quite by accident and was skeptical and without my insurance covering it, I was quite nervous. Fast forward one month.  I can breath! No more hot flashes! No more headaches or feeling like I\u2019m hung over!
