Inspiring PSA that Dr. Dae was asked to be a part of in her community

Community is one of the cornerstones of humanity. In this time, when we are asked to stay away from our communities, it creates the opportunity to examine what makes our individual communities great and important to us. It also allows us to find creative ways to connect with our communities during this time.

Connecting and giving back to my community is one of the best ways I have found to reclaim my sanity, especially when I feel like my life is upside down. Last week, I had the opportunity to give back to a few of my communities with one project. I was able to speak to my ethnic community, one of my favorite cities, and share my healthcare expertise in one project.

I was born into an amazing community of black and brown people that span the globe. I feel so blessed to be part of the black diaspora with all of the gifts that this group shares with the building of civilizations and on-going contributions to technology, growth and humanity throughout the world.

I feel so fortunate that I was able to give back to my second home – Brooklyn. Ever since I graduated from college, almost 30 years I have had at least one dear friend living in Brooklyn. I travel back there on average four times per year.

As a member of the health care community, it is my pleasure to teach people how to make simple but significant changes to improve not only the quality if their health but the quality and longevity of their life as well.

This week, I was asked to be a part of a PSA for the Brooklyn Borough of NY. I was selected as one of 42 plant-based doctors speaking about health disparities of COV-I9 for people of color. More Importantly, the message offers a simple but powerful solution to solve many of the underlying causes of disease – a plant-based diet. You all know how passionate I am about you finding ways to Eat More Plants!

This PSA was so amazing because it reminded me that there are so many doctors that know food can be your medicine, instead of medications and surgeries. All the health care professionals in this video believe that you can empower yourself through your lifestyle decisions and you can reverse your health care conditions, thus making you less susceptible to getting COVID-19.

You can’t wait for a medication or your insurance company to save you. You can’t be scared to walk next to your neighbor in the grocery store. You have to take action to improve your health.

Take action now– you are worth it! If you haven’t yet attended one of my webinars about health ,or waiting for the right time improve your health, this is the right time.
