The link between hope and gratitude.

Last week I wrote about hope and how it is necessary for our mental health. Today I want to continue our discussion by sharing the link between hope and gratitude!

I think hope is what people are starving for and really looking for with all of their internet searches for how to lose weight or create the perfect diet. They’re searching for HOPE – nothing but hope.

Looking at the research, we find that gratitude provides a way to increase hope by giving you a sense of control.

“Gratitude and appreciation end up stoking this fire of a larger hope. And those are well within our control,” said Nancy Colier, a psychotherapist and interfaith minister. “Make it very much in this moment. What can I hope for? And what can I do towards that?”

That feeling of being overwhelmed, psychologists say, can be mitigated by shifting attention from the big picture to the things people can control.

Several years ago, I created a 30 day guide to help increase gratitude on a daily basis. I created it for myself as a way of spending a few minutes every day taking control of my situation. I shared it with hundreds of you and it has empowered you and changed your lives as well.

During this year, I have felt compelled to turn this 30 Dae guide into a book to teach you how to increase feelings of gratitude in your life. I am excited to share with you the 30 guide is currently at the printer to become a book and will be available in mid November for purchase!
