If you know anything about me, you know that I believe in mentoring and coaching! I have spent my entire life working with coaches and mentors. Each experience working with a mentor or coach has increased the quality of my life. As early as my elementary school days, I remember trying climb the ropes in the gym and wanting to give up, saying I couldn’t do it. I also remember my coach who told me I was not allowed to say ‘I can’t’ and sent me right back to the ropes with a few suggestions. And sure enough, I did it.
A few years ago, I started working with coaches to improve the health of my business. My business has a health of it’s own. In order for me to best serve you, I have to be healthy mentally and emotionally. My business has to be healthy too. It has to have the right team and partners to stay strong.
Now, my coaches have tasked me with increasing my reach by creating partnerships with other businesses and doing more talks in the community. I have to be honest, this is really scary for me. I know you are probably thinking “Dr. Dae, you do talks all the time”. It is true – I love teaching and training people about healthy living and I am really excited about that part of my goals in 2020. The part that terrifies me is going out to knock on doors of businesses in the community and asking them to do talks at their businesses. However, if I am serious about achieving my goals, I need to trust my coaches and get out of my comfort zone and create new habits of connecting with more people.
Why do I share that I work with coaches and they are asking me to go out of my comfort zone? I do this for a few reasons:
1) I know that it is scary to do new things but it is necessary when we have goals. We have to do news things to get different and better results.
2) You are not alone. I am doing new things to improve the health of my business too. Sometimes it might seem like this new direction isn’t working but I have to trust my coaches that this is the right approach. Just like you trust me and the wellness team.
3) Health is not just about you. It is also the partnerships and the support of others necessary for growth. My practice needs me to focus on all the areas of the business including partnerships and support.
We get healthy and stay healthy as a community. It is more fun to get healthy this way, instead of getting healthy in isolation. So, I am going into the community so we can have more classes and do more fun events to get you healthy.
If you have a business where you would like us to have an event, do let me know. Or, if you have an organization or group that you would like me speak to, please send me a message and I promise that I’ll follow up with you about speaking at your organization.
To Your One Sweet Life,
Dr. Dae
