Fall, or autumn, is a time of change. Most of us think about fall being a time of getting back into normal routines. Students are back to school and summer travel or other plans have come to a close.
Autumn is also harvest time. There is a bounty of choices and changes that we can make. Days are shortening and the temperature starts to drop in evenings and mornings. Autumn is the time for building and preparing for winter. Another way of thinking about autumn is that it is the end of one growing season and the beginning of a new growing season.
This fall has created many new changes for me personally and professionally. I been thinking about my mission, vision and core values for my life.
Have you spent time thinking about your mission, vision or core values? For me, it was an eye-opening experience. It might not seem like a big deal, I think everyone knows I love coaching people into better health. And I do love that! What I don’t love sometimes is running an office. During the last 6 months, it has been a struggle managing the office and treating patients. I have had my doubts about if I can handle all of the business responsibilities as the practice grows.
As I was reviewing, Think and Grow Rich, a book by Napoleon Hill, I was reminded to be clear about my mission to reignite my passion. Passion is a powerful emotion that will push you to keep moving forward when you are feeling overwhelmed or tired. It is motivation to keep you on track when you want to give up.
I spent time redefining my vision, mission and core values for the practice. I will share them with you because they impact each and every one of you. This is how we will show up in my practice every day. This is how myself and my team will support you in all our interactions.
